Obituary For Richard E. Auerbeck

Richard E. Auerbeck July 6, 1939-March 11, 2021

Richard E. Auerbeck, 81, of Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Edward and Otilda (Willnecker) Auerbeck. Richard married Cecelia A. Quirin on Sept. 26, 1959, she preceded him in death on May 31, 2018. Rick is survived by two sons: Richard (Beverly) Auerbeck and John (Donatella) Auerbeck; a daughter, Kelly (Bryan) McMullen all of Altoona; nine grandchildren: Keith (Amanda) McMullen, Michael (Olivia) McMullen, Tyler (Alison) Auerbeck, Brittany Auerbeck, Krista Auerbeck, Travis (Carly) Auerbeck, Dylan Auerbeck, Kara (Casey) Deters and Johnathan Pasley; five great-grandchildren: Mallory, Emma, Amelia, Ellis and Leo. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen B. Pasley and a brother, Edward Auerbeck. Rick was a 1958 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp and served during the Vietnam Era. Rick retired from Neff Electric Co. as an electrician in 2004. He enjoyed doing sudoku puzzles and watching football games and “Gun Smoke”. Rick was a home body and loved visits from his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-5 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
