Richard Sassano March 22, 1925-Dec.1, 2020

Richard Sassano, 95, Altoona, formerly of Sankertown, passed away Tues. at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Sankertown, the son of the late, Patsy and Jennifer Sassano. Richard married Patricia E. Wills on March 9, 1999. Richard is survived by his wife and sons; David, Richard, and Paul; and a daughter, Florence; step-son, Joe Pabian; two step-daughters, Nancy Mallery, Patricia Deyarmin; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Richard served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Bethlehem Mines as an Electrician after nearly 30 years of service. Richard was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and a member of the United Mine Workers Union. Visitation and service will be held at the convenience of the family.
