Obituary For Robert "Bob" L. Lynn

Robert L. “Bob” Lynn

February 15, 1934-August 24, 2026

Robert L. “Bob” Lynn, 92, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Monday morning at Garvey Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Altoona and raised by his late grandparents, John and Rose (Kittell) Lynn.

Bob married Jane Obermyer on May 2, 1959.

Surviving Bob is his loving wife, Jane; his son, Terry Lynn (Vicki); two daughters: Kathy Madariaga (Ulises) and Cheryl Lynn (Mark Bates) all of Altoona; five grandchildren: Brent (Renae), Ryan, Sebastian (Natasha), Jordan and Morgan (Ben); four great-grandchildren: Mason, Cassandra, Aria and Theo. He is also survived by six half-siblings: Lou, John, Mark, Janet, Nancy and Susie.

He was preceded in death by his Aunt Marie Dyczko, who helped raise him and his grandson, Cory.

Bob was a 1953 graduate of Altoona High School and served in the US Army.

He was of the Catholic faith.

He previously worked for Drennings and Ward Trucking. Bob was the former owner of Lynn Trailer Rental and Warehousing.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Garvey Manor for their outstanding care.

Friends will be received from 1-4 pm on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.

Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.

The family kindly requests no flowers. Your thoughts and prayers are the greatest comfort during this difficult time. If you would like to make a gesture in his memory, please consider donating to a charity of your choice.

    Better than all the rest! Jane, what an amazing loving, kind, generous, gentle man your husband was and boy did you enjoy an amazing life experience together. I am so happy to have known him during my high school and college days. I will never forget you two coming home to a house full of punk rock music and college kids. Neither of you got mad, but joined us and even wore dish towels as headbands to fit in with our punk rock outfits. Thank you for those memories. Your home was filled with LOVE. Prayers and condolences for the entire Lynn family.

He was a wonderful person, and I feel fortunate to have known and worked with him. My heartfelt condolences to Jane and the entire Lynn family.
