October 6, 1933-August 15, 2024

Robert J. Pardo, 90, Duncansville, formerly of Charlotte, NC, passed away Thursday at the Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home. He was born in York, the son of the late Joseph F. and Thelma E. (Klinefelter) Pardo.

He married Mary M. “Maggie” Poole in April of 1973, she preceded him in death.

Robert is survived by his two daughters: Teresa L. Salome (Dave) of Altoona and Wendy C. Kennedy of Four Oaks, NC; six grandchildren: Stephanie, David, Michael, Taylor, Cameron and Christain; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, JoAnn Harbold of Morehead City, NC; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, James J. Pardo.

Robert was a graduate of West York High School and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He retired as an Insurance Salesman.

Robert was of the United Methodist faith.

He enjoyed nature and watching wildlife.

Friends will be received from 12-2 pm on Friday, August 23, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2 pm in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Pastor Brian Detwiler. Interment will be held at Alto Reste Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Robert’s memory to: Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home, 138 Veterans Blvd, Duncansville, PA 16635 or a charity of your choice.
