Obituary For Robert "Rob" J. Scalice, Jr.

Robert J. “Rob” Scalice, Jr. May 30, 1968-Sept. 5, 2022

Robert J. “Rob” Scalice, Jr., 54, Altoona, passed away Monday at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona, the son of Robert J. and Shirley (Stewart) Scalice, Sr. Rob married Rochelle Dougal on November 1, 2001 in Altoona. Rob is survived by his wife of 20 years; parents of Altoona; his children: Travis (Baylee) Scalice of Mount Vernon, OH, Zachary and Abigayle Scalice of Altoona; a sister, Karen Scalice of Altoona; and a special nephew, who was raised in the family home, Andrew (Caitlyn) Scalice; five nieces and nephews: Joshua, Anna-Grace and Nicolas Scalice and Riley and Katelyn Dougal; two great nephews: Kayden and Mason Scalice; mother and father-in-law, Howard and Denise “Casie” Dougal and brother-in-law, Sean (Sandy) Dougal. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gregg Scalice. Rob was a 1986 graduate of Huntingdon High School. He was employed as the Dietary Manager at Cove Forge Behavioral Health and had previously worked with the Department of Corrections at SCI Somerset as the Dietary Manager. Rob attended Altoona Alliance Church and New Life Church. He was a former volunteer fireman with Logan Township-United Fire Department and belonged to the Newburg Fire Co. Social Hall. Rob was a longtime baseball and softball coach for his children with Altoona Little League, Federation League and Keystone Girls Softball League. Friends will be received from 2-5 pm, Saturday, September 10, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 5:00 pm with Pastor Micah Marshall.
