Robert S. “Tyke” Yocum

January 24, 1970-March 11, 2026

Robert S. “Tyke” Yocum, 56, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Reynoldsdale, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Yocum.

Tyke is survived by his life partner, Valerie Bennett, with whom he resided; nine stepchildren; twenty-three step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren; a brother, Travis Yocum and sister, Tanya Yocum.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Yocum.

Tyke was a graduate of Juniata Valley High School and had been a painter by trade, working with several local painting contractors.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and especially time at Raystown. Tyke was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan.

At Tyke’s request, there will be no visitation or services.
