Roger L. Ritchey

June 22, 1953-August 19, 2024

Roger L. Ritchey, 71, Altoona, passed away at his residence on Monday, surrounded by his family. He was born in Roaring Spring, the son of the late, Roy R. and Louise L. (Black) Ritchey.

Roger married Grace R. Lang on November 8, 1975.

Surviving are his loving wife, Grace of 48 years; a son, Roger L. Ritchey, II of Waynesboro; two daughters: Jennifer E. Fleck (Scott) and Stephanie L. Cowfer (Mark) both of Altoona; three grandchildren: Gracie, Madison and Mason; and a sister, Debra Ellis (Richard) of Claysburg.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Stephen Fleck and grandson, Stephen Fleck, Jr.

He was a member of the Church of God.

Roger was a 1971 graduate of Claysburg Kimmel High School and went on to receive his Associates degree from the Electronics Institute of Pittsburgh.

He retired as the HVAC teacher at GACTC. Roger previously was a salesperson at Link Computer and worked in the Claysburg Brickyard.

He was a member of the Horseshoe Amateur Radio Club.

Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting, ham radio, poker and flying drones. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024 at The Stevens Memorial Chapel, 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
