Ronald E. Grove

December 10, 1946-August 31, 2026

Ronald E. Grove, 79, of Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Walter and Ruth (Crooks) Grove.

Ron married JoAnne Gaisior on July 8, 2002, she preceded him in death on April 10, 2014.

Surviving Ron is a son, Jason R. Grove of Altoona and four daughters: Bobbi Jo Smith (Dennis) of Jacksonville, FL, Lori Skaggs (Kevin) of West Virginia, Stephanie Castle (Michael Gennarino) of Altoona and Susan “Nicki” Turner-Deibert (Bill) of Welaka, Florida; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Bobbi Grove Nickum (Bruce) of Hollidaysburg.

He was a 1968 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School.

Ron retired as a surveyor from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc.

He enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen. Ron liked collecting coins, loved target shooting and Penn State football. He especially looked forward to spending time with his friends at Tom & Joe’s for breakfast and playing Poker with his friends at the Graystone.

Friends will be received from 2-4 pm, Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a funeral service will immediately follow in the Stevens Memorial Chapel.

Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
