November 7, 1949-June 27, 2026

Ronan T. Adams, 76, of Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Cyril and Helen (Greiner) Adams.

Ron was twice married, first on November 28, 1970, to Patricia Ann “Patty” Miller, she preceded him in death on April 18, 2007; he was blessed a second time and married Marilyn J. Burchfield on July 7, 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his daughter Rachael Bunk (Brian) of Duncansville; his son, Ryan Adams (Amy) of Bellefonte; three stepsons: John Farabaugh (Jessica), Kurt Farabaugh (Jackie), Brian Farabaugh (Shannon) all of Altoona; three stepdaughters: Shelly Stiver (Raymond) and Julie Hatch (Randy) also of Altoona and Cheryl Hutchinson (Chase) of Eagle, Idaho; his grandchildren: Madison, Lauren and Evelyn Bunk and Blaise and Victor Adams; step-grandchildren: RJ Stiver, Kristen Rettburg, Heather Foor (Dylan), Eric Farabaugh (Mikayla), Joshua Farabaugh, Kurstin Rouzer (Seth), Kasey Hatch, McKenzie Hatch, Rylee Miller (Kevin), Jack Hatch, Madison, Brooke, and Payton Hutchinson, Elaine, Elliot, Lucas and Xavier Farabaugh; also his step-great-grandchildren: Kevin, Jake, Wyatt and Emersyn Stiver, Levi and Brayden Rettburg, Karsyn and Devyn Miller, Trenton and Micah Farabaugh, Jackson Rouzer, Ajaycia Alexander and Carson Foor; and his brother, Steven Adams (Shawnee) of Altoona.

Ron was preceded in death by his siblings: Donna Civils and Kenny Lytle; also his step-granddaughter, Sierra Farabaugh.

He was a 1967 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and a 1971 graduate of Penn State University. Ron served in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Ron retired from PennDot as a Civil Engineer.

He was a faithful member and lector of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and remained strong in his Catholic faith.

Ron was a member of the Unter Uns, Bavarian Aid Society, Newburg Fire Hall, Heidelberg Country Club and the Cesare Battisti Club.

He enjoyed dancing and loved supporting his grandchildren in their sports.

Friends will be received from 4-7 pm on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602 where a vigil for the deceased will be held.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 pm on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 511 20th St., Altoona, PA 16602, with Fr. Lubomir Strecok, celebrant. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
