Obituary For Rosalind A. Everhart
Rosalind A. Everhart
June 15, 1944-April 29, 2025
Rosalind “Rose” A. Everhart, 80, formerly of Altoona, passed away Tuesday at The Kempton of Hermitage Assisted Living in Hermitage, TN. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Beverly and Erma (McAteer) Hatch.
On August 20, 1966, she married the love of her life, Robert P. Everhart, and together they shared 58 beautiful years of devotion and unwavering commitment.
She is survived by her loving husband; a son, Gregory P. Everhart (Kimberly) of Weatherford, Texas and a daughter, Lisa K. Risboskin (James) of Nashville, Tennessee.; four grandchildren: Steven Damron (Samantha), Sarah Long (Zach), Sydney and Shane Everhart; and great-granddaughter, Lily.
Rose was raised in a close-knit family of eighteen children. She is survived by four siblings: Timothy Hatch (Debbie), Connie Cook (Doug), Mary Jane Mincin (Jim) and Kathy Lechner; brothers and sisters in law Donna Oswalt, Judith Hatch, Anna Mae Hatch and Gary Everhart (Karen).
She was preceded in death by 13 siblings, William Hatch, Earl Hatch, Beverly “Bo” Hatch, Eugene Hatch, Louis Hatch, Mike Hatch, Pat Hatch Kenny Hatch, Richard Hatch, Madeline Burns, Bernadine Blodgett, Irma Grace Strickland, and Debbie Barr; brothers-in-law, George Lechner and Bob Oswalt; and sisters-in-law, Emilie and Donna Hatch.
Rose was a 1963 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
She found deep joy in the quiet comforts of home, where she shared a life filled with love alongside her devoted husband. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren, cherishing every laugh, hug, and moment together. She had a special love for the spring and summer months, when her flower gardens came to life and she could sit peacefully on the front porch or back deck, soaking in the beauty around her.
A lover of mystery and crime novels, she could often be found with a book in hand or thoughtfully working on a jigsaw puzzle, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. But nothing brought her more happiness than the holiday season—she delighted in picking out the perfect Christmas gifts and creating cherished memories that her family will hold close forever.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 416 6th Avenue, with Fr. Nelson Javier, celebrant. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 416 6th Avenue Altoona, PA 16602, The American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116 or St. Jude’s 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
