Rose J. Emerick

February 19, 1926-June 15, 2025

Rose J. Emerick, 99, of Altoona passed away Sunday at Hilltop Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Assunta (Ferrero) Viele.

Rose married James Emerick and he preceded her in death on February 7, 1994.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Anthony Emerick (Cheryl) of Altoona; four grandchildren: Michael, Christina, William, Jr. and Stacey; also, many great-grandchildren.

Rose was a retired waitress with Howard Johnson.

She was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.

Rose enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and loved taking care of her family.

Friends will be received from noon-2 pm, Friday, June 20, 2025 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2 pm in the Stevens Memorial Chapel.

Interment will be held at Carson Valley Cemetery.
