Russell E. “Bud” Knotts May 26, 1935-Jan. 26, 2021

Russell E. “Bud” Knotts, 85, Altoona, passed away Tuesday, at UPMC Altoona after a battle with Covid. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Elwood E. and Verna A. (Adams) Knotts. Russell married Violet E. Ritchey on June 29, 1956 at Altoona E.U.B. Bud is survived by his loving wife and their daughters, Susan L. Foster of Camp Hill, Pa., Debra Kelley of Irvona and a sister, Eleanor L. Moore of Va. He retired from the Logan Township Highway Department, where he was an equipment operator. Russell was previously a butcher for 20 years. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Due to the Covid pandemic, services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the James E.
