Ruth A. King April 24, 1947-April 21, 2024

Ruth A. King, 74, Altoona, passed away Sunday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, the daughter of the late Henry David and Helen (Everret) Garren.

Ruth was twice married, they both preceded her in death; her first husband was John Simon and her second husband, was Jerry King.

She is survived by her three children: William J. Simon (Crystal), Deborah Fitzgerald (Bob) and Sylvia Zitsch (Artie) all of Altoona; three grandchildren: Jessica Yuhas, William John Simon and Rosemarie Simon; numerous great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters, she was the last of her immediate family.

She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her dog, Princess and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services.
