Obituary For Sharon L. Harshberger

Sharon L. Harshberger April 16, 1954-Jan. 5, 2022

Sharon L. Harshberger, 67, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona following an extended illness. She was born in Cheverly, Maryland, the daughter of the late William C. and Anna Marie (Sanker) Allshouse. Sharon married John G. Harshberger on November 18, 1978 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, John; a son, Jason Harshberger and a daughter, Jackye Garman both of Altoona; four grandchildren: Darrek, Katalena, Nicholas and Hunter; three brothers: Allen (Leslie) Allshouse of Middletown, DE, Gary (Cindy) Allshouse of Airville, Pa, Scott Allshouse of Potomac, MD; three sisters: Karen (Michael) Williamson of Forest Hill, MD, Barbara Allshouse and Amy (Jason) Ebersole both of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews. She was a 1974 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Sharon enjoyed doing crafts and working the parish fish fry dinners. She ultimately loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Friends will be received from 3-6 pm on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602 where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes with celebrant, Fr. James Dugan. Committal will be held at Blair Memorial Cemetery.
