Obituary For Shirley E. Long

Shirley E. Long June 18, 1929-Feb. 2, 2021

Shirley E. Long, 91, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late James and Nellie (Shannon) Long. Shirley was the last member of her immediate family. Shirley was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, with a Master of Letters in Retailing and English. She was the founder and President of Marketing Services Centre, Inc. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602.     Shirley was my boss and my friend back in the 70's I remember her beautiful voice as she would sing as we worked. We stayed in touch at Christmas every year. We was a remarkable, strong, confident, caring person. A true "lady".
