Stephen Paul Lockard

August 13, 1939-September 6, 2023

Stephen Paul Lockard, 84, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday while on vacation in Virginia Beach.

He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Clair and Mary (Muscatelli) Lockard. Stephen married Sally A. Thompson on August 7, 1982.

He is survived by his loving wife; two sons: Joseph and Adam Lockard both of Altoona; two sisters: Hilda Norton of Hagerstown, MD and Marlene Kirsch of Altoona; a sister-in-law, Judy Lockard; several nieces and nephews; and three daughters from a previous marriage.

Stephen was preceded in death by a son, Stephen P. Lockard, Jr.; his brother, Clair Lockard; and a sister, Carol Lockard.

He was a 1957 graduate of Altoona High School and retired from Martins Foods. Stephen had previously been employed with F.L. Smithe for many years.

He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Stephen enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, home improvements, watching the Price Is Right; but most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and sons.

Friends will be received from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Monday, September 11, 2023, at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5519 6th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
