Suzanne J. Koehle, 80, Altoona passed away peacefully in her home on August 7, 2025 after battling Lewy Body Dementia for four years.
She is loved and survived by her husband Anthony Koehle, and by her children: Anthony Koehle Jr. (Melissa), Tina Samson (Steve), Mathew Koehle (Laura), Brad Koehle (Sarah), Christine Manning-Treaster (Clifton); siblings: Posey Barroner (Rod), Fran Adkins (Gary), Chris McConnell (Dave), Kathy Knott (Larry), Mary Ann Larson (Bob), Tom Ergler (Jeannie), Dan Ergler, brother-in-law, Mike Waksmunski and sister-in-law, Norma Ergler.
She is affectionately known as Bugga and survived by her sixteen grandchildren: Allison Koehle, Trey Koehle, Alaina Koehle, Sydney Samson, Tate Samson, Bryce Samson, Peyton Samson, Abby Getz (Nick Getz), Maddy Koehle, Ivan Koehle, Leah Koehle, Terrill Treaster, Tucker Treaster, Kaiden Manning-Treaster, Vinney Williams, Kaylee Treaster, and one great grandchild, Walker Treaster.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Eleanor Ergler; sons Adam and Brandon Koehle; son-in-law, Dustin Manning; sister, Carrie Waksmunski; brother Jim Ergler; and sister-in-law, Beth Ergler.
Susie was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and was a devout member of Sacred Heart church for 80 years. She was a volunteer at Saint Vincent De Paul Soup Kitchen for many years.
Her favorite place to be in the world was anywhere with a beach and her family.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and loved being a part of her card club for over 50 years. She loved staying up late playing Liverpool rummy with her loved ones, doing puzzles with her husband and finding a good thrift store with her sister Posey.
Anyone that knew Susie, knows that she would jump at any moment to lend a helping hand wherever she could.
Bugga meant so much, to so many, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 511 20th Street, Altoona, PA 16602 with Fr. Lubomir Strecok, celebrant.
