Obituary For Vera V. Hauck

Vera V. Hauck Dec. 23, 1922-March 3, 2022

Vera V. Hauck, 99, Altoona, peacefully passed away Thursday at the Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Lecontes Mills, the daughter of the late Stranford and Bertha (Hills) Smith. Vera was preceded in death by two husbands; LeRoy Confer passed in 1968 and Charles Hauck who passed in Nov. of 1994. Vera is survived by two daughters: Bertha “Corky” Schnaubelt of Altoona and Delores M. Little of North Olmstead, OH; a son, Maurice A. Confer (Judy) of Irwin; nine grandchildren: Cathy Rogers (Paul), Terry Martin (Tom), Diane McQuaid, Louis Schnaubelt, James Little, Jeffery Little (Sebnem), Fletcher Little, Nicholas Confer (Michelle) and Christopher Confer (Rosemary); eighteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandsons: Richard Schnaubelt and Stephen Little. Vera was the last surviving member of her family and was preceded in death by her four sisters and one brother. Vera attended Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and had been a former member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. She had been a very active Girl Scout leader and had belonged to the Christian Mothers. Vera was a kind, sweet and caring woman who was loved by all who met her. Friends will be received from 3-6 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament by Msgr. Stanley Carson. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
