Wayne L. Piper

Wayne L. Piper, formerly of Altoona, transitioned peacefully at his home in San Antonio on April 15, 2025. Wayne graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1974, served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, and retired from CPS Energy in 2020. He earned a Bachelor of Science in 1990 and a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resources Development, 2002. Wayne is survived by three children: Gloria Piper, Dwayne Piper, and Marques Piper, all of San Antonio, TX; two siblings: Cynthia (Piper) Mercado of Upper Marlboro, MD, and Mary Piper of Pittsburgh, PA; seven grandchildren; and other beloved family members.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Stevens Memorial Chapel, 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA, 16602 on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Visitation: 12:00 Noon; and Service: 1:00 p.m. Internment: Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood, PA
