William A. Gesser

January 22, 1936-November 16, 2024

William A. Gesser, 88, Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late William B. and Catherine (Lloyd) Gesser.

William was twice married, first to Dottie V. Gesser, who preceded him in death on July 14, 1995. He then married Angela Cory Gesser, she preceded him in death on January 30, 2021.

He is survived by his four daughters: Connie Gesser of North Carolina, Debbie Keith of Duncansville, Betsey Fisher and Jeannie Biddle both of Altoona; five step-children: Lloyd Colls of Mechanicsburg, Vasilios Pentsas, Donna Ceballos, Vaia Pentsas-Myers and Heather Berryman all of Altoona; four grandchildren: Tim Keith of Iowa, Danny Keith of Hollidaysburg, Katherine and Theodore Biddle of Altoona; also, thirteen step-grandchildren and his sister, Elizabeth Smith of Hollidaysburg.

William was preceded in death by his brother Terry Gesser on August 2, 2021.

William was a 1956 graduate of Altoona High School and retired as a mechanic from Conrail. He had also stayed busy as an electrician in his spare time.

He enjoyed attending services at Center City Church.

William liked spending time in the outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping, boating and traveling.

Friends will be received from 12:30-2:30 pm on Friday, November 22, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
