William E. Dey July 21, 1926 – Sept. 13, 2020

William E. Dey, 94, Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Sunday afternoon at the Village. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Herbert and Lavenia (Shilleteau) Dey. On Sept. 12, 1947 he married Shirley L. Kennedy who preceded him in death on Oct. 25, 2012. He is survived by a son, John W. Dey of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Dayna, in 2020; and four siblings. William was a graduate of Altoona High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He retired from Conrail as a conductor in 1989 with over 40 years of service. William was a member of the Independent Christian Bible Church. He was also a member of the Alto Artist Guild and enjoyed promoting and showing his oil paintings and portraits. Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at The Stevens Mortuary Chapel by Pastor David Butterbaugh. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park.
