William “Will” Gregg

January 9, 1952-October 14, 2025

William “Will” Gregg, 73, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday morning at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Johnstown, the son of the late William A. and Margaret (Bodnar) Gregg.

Will is survived by a son, William “Fuzz” Gregg of Altoona and a daughter, Lisa Harper (Rob) of Duncansville; six grandchildren: Elijah, Gage, Ashton, Aiden, Nathaniel and Adelaide; two brothers: Bob Gregg of Xenia, OH and J. Chris Gregg of Pleasant Gap; a sister, Joan Moore of Tyrone and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Kathleen Gregg and Rosalie Robinson; also a brother, Charles Gregg.

Will was an over the road truck driver with over 20 years of experience and retired from Schneider Trucking Company. He had previously been a drug and alcohol counselor at Cove Forge and Pyramid Healthcare.

He enjoyed playing basketball and had been an active participant in the local basketball leagues.

Will was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, but ultimately loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 4-6 pm, Friday, October 17, 2025 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 6 pm in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Pastor Douglas McGaffin.

Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.

    Big Will was a kind and friendly tenant at the Children's Museum. He will be missed. It's hard to believe that he is gone from earth, and a reminder to treat others well every day. May he rest in peace.
