Obituary For Zelda R. Dalesio

Zelda R. Dalesio, 85, Osterburg, passed away Thursday at her residence.

Zelda was born in New Enterprise, daughter of the late Elmer J. and Florence M. (Lane) Powell. On January 25, 1957, she married Andrew E. Dalesio who survives.

She is survived by her loving husband; two sons: Andrew E. Dalesio, Jr. of Osterburg and Lorenzo J. Dalesio of Altoona; a daughter, Eva M. Kranich (Michael, Sr.) of Altoona; six grandchildren: Christina M. Carney, Matthew D. Dalesio, Alysia N. Dalesio Krug, Anthony J. Dalesio, Kaleb Y. Dalesio and Adhalia M. Dalesio; two great-grandchildren: Victoria Marshall and Isaiah Carney; a brother, Nelson J. High of Altoona; a sister, Darlene F. Smith of Hollidaysburg and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers: Elmer J. Powell Jr., Arnold Powell, Garwood High, and Robert High Sr. and sisters: Nora Mussleman, Vergie Butler, Doris Campbell, and Freda Mae Berheimer.

Zelda was a 1953 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School. She retired as Assistant County Supervisor with Farmers Home Administration. Along with her husband, she was owner and operator of A&Z Food Concessions for many years.

Zelda was a 48-year member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress where she competed in state and national bowling tournaments.

Her husband and family were her most valued treasures.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, August 2, 2020.

Interment will be at Bedford Memorial Park.

The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to your favorite charity.
